 Blood Donation Day

Blood Donation Day

In May, as part of the 20th Year Anniversary Celebrations, our Mauritius office organized a Blood Donation Day in association with the Blood Donors Association and the national Blood Transfusion Service. Over 65 pints were collected during the event. One donation can save three lives!

TAM Beach Clean-up - Over 250kgs of rubbish collected!

Millions of tons of plastic and other rubbish end up in our oceans every year, causing pollution and endangering marine life. Unfortunately much of it ends up on our beaches. To celebrate Earth Day 2024 team members our Mauritius office organised a beach clean-up morning. In just a few hours they had collected over 250 kgs of rubbish! Metal cans, bottles, fishing nets, sunglasses, plastic packets and containers, just to name a few, were removed from the beach by the happy team of volunteers.

 Commitment to Clean Drinking Water

Commitment to Clean Drinking Water

In 2020 TAM was the lead sponsor in a clean water project to supply two filtered drinking fountains for use by pupils at a local secondary school in Mauritius.   Following a site visit we realised that the students did not have access too fresh drinking water during the day and had to resort to bringing water from home.

The school catered for a deprived neighbourhood in the capital, Port Louis. Give the hot climate this seemed a situation that had to be rectified and in conjunction with The Rotary Club or Port Louis, Essar and unicorn two fountains were installed.

Supporting the Homeless

In 2015 our CEO took part in a charity cycle ride from London to Paris organised by our UK Investment partner, TAM Asset Management. Alongside him where several TAM colleagues and professionals from the UK Fund management sector.

It was a successful and enjoyable ride thankfully with little incident on the roads to Paris.  Several thousand pounds were raised for charities catering to the homeless in London.

Shelter for Women and Children in Distress

Shelter for Women and Children in Distress

In 2014 the TAM team visited a Shelter for Women and Children in Distress based in Curepipe, Mauritius. During the day we entertained the children, shared lunch with them and most importantly gained an understanding into how we can help and support them going forward.

Our IT manager even gave a session on self-defence; fortunately, there were no broken bones
